On March 18th, Crossroads Blues Society will offer up blues int he schools programming!  This is the second of two sessions.  In the first sessions on March 4th the Fine Arts tract students learned about 12 bar blues.  In the second session the students are tasked to return with their own newly created blues  songs so that the artist can play them with them.  Dan Phelps, a great blues man and blues educator out of Roscoe, IL, will be working with the students.

March 31st CBS has a Blue Monday Party at Mary’s Place at 602 N Madison in Rockford with the roicking blues man Jared James Nichols.  7 PM start, $5 cover.  Come on out for this good time!

Saturday, April 5th we have Dan Phelps returning for some solo acoustic blues at Leombruni’s Italian Village in Byron.  No cover, 8 PM start.

May 17th and 24th there are two great shows at Mary’s Place.  On the first, Saturday the 17th Terry Quiett and his band will be in the house.  On the second Saturday the 24th, Luca Giordano and Quique Gomez will be performing there.  Cover charge is $5 and an 8 PM start for both.  Luca and Quique will also be down in Byron as a duo on Friday night the 23rd at Leombruni’s, no cover, 8 PM start.

Crossroads Blues Society is proud to present the second annual Field of Blues Festival on Saturday, June 28th at Rockford Aviators Stadium in Loves Park.

Alex Wilson Band is opening beginning his set at noon. Next up is Chicago’s red-headed blues  diva Liz Mandeville and her band..  The Jimmy’s will bring their swinging blues at 4 PM. At 6 PM, the ever cool Doug Deming and Dennis Gruenling will take the stage with the Jewel Tones. 

At 8 PM our headliner will be John Nemeth!  Between acts we will feature local acoustic blues man Dan Phelps. 10 hours of music from noon to 10 PM (we close at 10:30 PM). Tickets will once again only be $10 in advance and $15 at the door.
